“Ifana” is an artistic project inspired by one of the most emblematic place of the Agriates desert, Ifana. Built in the 17th century to respond to the Genoese agricultural development policy, the Ifana farm was first managed by the Genovese aristocratic Spinola family. The history of the estate follows the history of Corsica: after 1769, confiscated under the Ancien Régime, tossed between national property (under the Revolution) and private property, it ended up being acquired by the Conservatoire du littoral.
The Ifana artistic project is built on a comparison between Nature as the creative force of the landscape and an imaginary dimension concerning life on the farm. The whole project is an investigation into the identity linked to the territory, and how these can influence and transform each other.
This imaginary evasion allows the artist to approach macro-themes, such as identity, limit, memory, injury. by mixing technical information with totally imaginary creative elements.a Rica e Madagascar.
